We Week Begins Again!

Velcro – what a rip-off!

The birds woke me up this morning and the first think I thought of was my wonderful bride…dang, I am lucky! I get to spend the entire day with her! He get to talk, eat, play, watch TV and have lunch with our daughter Robin. Plus we get to visit with daughter Colleen via the bat phone a couple of times…almost like being there! Life is good!

We began the day by turning on the solar heater…yes, I left the blinds open on the east facing windows and eight-foot sliding door. The sun pours in and it’s heat is quite amazing…even in the winter! When I arrived at the dining room table, the house was already 80 degrees!

Did You Know? Heat from the air transfers to the glass, by convection.   Heat then transfers through the glass by conduction   Then the heat transfers from the glass to the outside air via convection. If the temperature differences are small and there are no winds or drafts, transfer of heat to/from air/glass will be by conduction.

We went to CPK with Robin for lunch and amazingly enough we got his in the text box just before we sat down! Robin s going to join us at Sun Dried Tomatoes to celebrate Pete’s birthday! It’s also ;ikely that Mitch will join in also as he likes family activities. Before leaving CPK, I checked my iPhone and got a message from Vicky! I just donated $40 to the CHP Officer and was happy to do so!

Perfect timing!

Got a pix from our granddaughter and her bow…cute couple! They are coming out to see us in October and that will be a great visit.

NATE & JACKIE

In the afternoon, I worked around the yard and in the shop. Tired I got from putting a sprinkler on the end of a long hose and then go back and forth ten times to get the pressure just right. So, I went to Amazon and got four in-line water valves and four six-foot hose extensions. Now I can put the sprinkler down and adjust it with the in-line value and see the water flow…no more walking to the water supply several times! Love old age when I have time to think about saving time!

This device will save a lot of steps!

We were planning to go to Patty’s Place but got involved in the TV shows so we passed it up…perhaps tonight with Mitch. (We had planned to eat with Mitch this evening but he was asked to babysite Lilly and Remy and that is a job he cannot pass up!)

We watched Grey’s and a new one called “Night Shift” until 11:00 PM and then crashed! The Night Shift is an American medical drama series that ran from May 27, 2014, to August 31, 2017, for four seasons and 45 episodes, on NBC. The series was created by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah, and follows the lives of the staff who work the late night shift in the emergency room at San Antonio Memorial Hospital.

Interesting but only 45 episode sin length

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
