Tis’ Saturday; Time To Unwind From A Busy Week Of Being Retired!

Whatever happened to people answering the phone?

We had no specific plans this morning, so we got our coffee and wandered around the garden.  We just planted these new lilies, and they are doing well.

Don’t tell anyone, but we also grow flowers in our garden.

The poor little Lilly could not be alone without a friend, so Mr. Pink was added.

I love those colors!

Our dirt is making them grow well.  We added amendments to the soil when we first bought the house, which is paying off now.

Ranunculus is a large genus of about almost 1700 to more than 1800 species of flowering plants in the family Ranunculaceae.  Members of the genus are known as buttercups, spearworts, and water crowfoots.  The genus is distributed in Europe, North America, and South America.

Just like a peach!

The Ranunculus plants do very well and provide a lot of colors to the garden!

Now we are talking real red!

Our loquat tree is going wild after all the rains we have had.  We will have a ton to harvest, so that I will put a ladder tight on the tree.  These guys are misunderstood because many people do not know what to do with them.  Mary makes a loquat crisp that our neighbors enjoy!

The loquats are coming, and we are ready for them this year.

Back in the house and we get welcomed by Mr. Scout.  He asked what we picked for him, but we were empty-handed!  He had to settle for a tookie!

Scout is doing well, even with all his crazy meds.

To decided to go to lunch at our favorite Greek restaurant.  We had our flaming saganaki, and when Sotos began to play, we asked Chuck to sing Amazing Grace.  Enjoy the video.

How do Greeks view their food? Through a Gyroscope!

What do you call a Greek philosopher who loves rice? Arisotto!

We then headed to Jans’s house for a visit;  we shared a glass of wine with her, and she caught up on the adventures of Chuck and Lisa.  They first met at our wedding almost two years ago.

We visited Jan

Returning home, it was time for Scout’s meds, so we took off his “cone of shame” and decided we would see what it was like.    Now we know why it is difficult for Scout to drink with the cone on.

If the doggie has to wear a “cone of shame,” so do we!

We tried and tried but finally figured it out!

Nope!  No, go, we can’t kiss!

Now we know how Scout gets around the cone!

Well, maybe!

Mary fixed spaghetti and meat sauce using gluten-free pasta, and we had a great meal.  We were going to go back to Jan’s and give her the results of tonight’s dinner, but we folded like a cheap suit.

We had tickets for a play at Southcoast Repertory and gave the tickets to Chuck and Lisa.  We decided we were tired, and we stayed home and watched a series called  “The Shooter.”  We stayed up past 11:00 PM watching that silly series.  It was pretty good, and we know there are two more seasons.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
