Shot Out Of A Canon!

I wanna hang a map of the world in my house. Then I’m gonna put pins into all the locations that I’ve traveled to. But first, I’m gonna have to travel to the top two corners of the map so it won’t fall down.

We are off! The plan is to drive Highway 99 to Bakersfield and have lunch and then proceed to Stockton and visit our Aunt Kaye. She is 96 and just moved into an assisted care facility.

96 years of age and going strong!

Ten o’clock sharp and we are heading to the 605 without a lot of traffic. We decided to cross the valley on 210 and avoid downtown…good call, very little traffic! We kept up with traffic meaning we did about 80 mph the entire way.

About two hours into our adventure, the phone rang and it was the Social Security Office…Sue is not getting Social Security retirement although I do not know how they figure out the benefits? Oh well…it’s a little mor emoney and that is a good thing.

We arrived in Bakersfield and head to our favorite Highway 99 Chinese Restaurant, Bill Lee’s. Good food and great atmosphere. We have our lunch and a glass of vino for the trip!.

We departed about 1:00 PM and arrived at Stockton at 6:00 PM…Just in time to catch Kaye before she crashed for the night.

We had a god visit before going to our hotel which was about four miles away.

We stayed in “The Presidential Suite”…. President of what we forgot to ask!

We needed a drink before retiring so we dropped to the ground floor and found a bistro! Sue had wine as I did BUT I also ordered a small burger…when the damned thing arrived, it was 12 ounces…looked like a buffalo impaled himself on the bun! It was huge! I will indeed pay for this on the scales!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
