A Day In The Hospital And A “Midnight” Operation

Paul got some morphine and slept like a baby last night.  We stayed in the hospital all day so the various docs could see us… The general Practitioner (GP, Paul’s heart doctor (to make sure he was good for the operation), and finally the surgeon.  We decided that since a) we were already here and 2) the pain was not pleasant we would proceed and get it fixed!

Sue had been at Paul’s side all day and needed lunch and a glass of wine.  Our dear friend Michael came up and took Sue out for dinner!

We got scheduled for 9:00 PM (if there were no emergencies that bumped the  schedule).  At 8:30 PM they came and got Paul. He went into the operating room at 9:00 PM and 45 minutes later the surgeons went to visit Sue in the operating room waiting area pronouncing his fit-as-a-fiddle.  They told Sue “Go home,,, It;s 10:00 PM and Paul will be out for three hours plus!  Being smart, she called Vicky and they went home..

No big deal! Small cuts and some stitching

At 10:15 PM, Sue got a the call from Paul saying “I’m awake and being moved to the regular room!”… we decided Sue should stay home!

It was a quick job… We used glue!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
