My internal clock is still completely broken. I crashed early and then—bam—my eyes popped open at 4:00 am like I had been summoned by a rooster with a personal grudge.
Mary adjusted easily, of course, but I suppose that’s expected when you’re as young as she is and still have a factory-original sleep system. Mine apparently runs on dial-up.
So at 4:00 am, I perched myself in front of the computer like a caffeinated gargoyle and reviewed the last twelve days of posts, making a few adjustments and correcting my grammar. After all that, it almost reads like it was written by an actual human instead of a deranged wombat with access to a keyboard.
Then it hit me in a flash: today is WEDNESDAY, which means it’s time to subject my magnificent body to 90 minutes of torture, starting with a five-mile bike ride (all uphill, which is hard to do inside a gym). Today’s goal is to get rid of the crick in my back from saying goodbye to the great-grandchildren!

We finished the gym with only minor contusions.

From the gym, we went to CVS and picked up a bag of medications. A funny thing happened. I always open the door and close the door for Dr. Mary. This has been going on for 2,262 days since July 28, 2020. When I stopped at CVS, the outdoor temperature was already in the 90s, so I thought Mary said she would wait for me. I went into CVS, and a few minutes later, someone tapped on my shoulder and asked, “Don’t you open the door for me anymore?” I did not hear her correctly. My bad!!
