It’s Thursday And That Means…..

Oh so very very true!

Another drizzly day in Orange!  What did one raindrop say to the other? “Two’s company. Three’s a cloud.”

When I read my email, I got the bad news from the tax person!  After much mashing of teeth, a lot of tears, and occasional gas passing, I signed everything and put my firstborn up for sale (I probably won’t get a lot of money for her!).

Mary scanned, copied, wrote checks, licked stamps, addressed envelopes, and filled out mailing paperwork; I sat staring at the ceiling, slobbering slightly and wiping my tears away.

What is the difference between a taxidermist and a tax collector? The taxidermist takes only your skin.

The first installment is in the mail, thanks to Dr. Mary; my hands were shaking so bad it looked like a first grader doing artwork for Mommy and Daddy! Perhaps I should not have used Crayolas?

We walked the yard, especially the strawberry patch, where we wanted to install the latest procurement from Amazon. Strawberry growing racks are mainly designed to support your strawberries up off the ground; in this way, these strawberries are hard to get rotten and dirty on rainy days and during wet growing seasons; These strawberry growing racks will be a practical and useful way to keep strawberry clean and increase your strawberry yield.

Off the soil and into our mouths; no dirt involved!

Well, it is clean-up time as we are off to the Elks for Girls’ Night Out.  We went to the Post Office to deliver the certified mail with the first installment of taxes in it.  I gave the envelope a big hug before I let go of it; money down the drain as our government pissed it away so easily!

We went to the Elks for Girls’ Night Out, which was fun as usual!

Robin is coming by this afternoon to stay with us overnight so we can plan Mother’s Day.

I did arrange for a cruise on Mary’s birthday, just a weekend to Mexico and back.  It is a good way to start our traveling plans, as New Hampshire and Hawaii are on the docket for this year.

Robin and Bob are going to join us on Mary’s birthday for our cruise to Mexico!

We are on deck ten.

We dropped by Ralph’s on the way home and picked up some goodies.  At home, Mary went picking in the garden, and I fixed the gate to the backyard; it had warped in the rains, but now it latches correctly.

We had a garden salad and tamales for dinner while watching Matthew David McConaughey movies.  The first was How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, a 2003 romantic comedy film directed by Donald Petrie, starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. It is based on the picture book of the same name by Michele Alexander and Jeannie Long. The book has no narrative, only a list of comedic dating “don’ts”, so the characters and plot were created specifically for the film. In the film, advertising executive Benjamin Barry makes a bet that he can make any woman fall in love with him, while women’s magazine writer Andie Anderson plans to write an article about how she led her boyfriend to dump her, putting them at cross-purposes after they choose each other as their romantic partners.

At 9:30 pm, we hit the sack!

About Paul
