Sunday Was Slow… For Us

We went to church and it was excellent this morning… Good messages.  On the way home we got new printer cartridges and then printed out 50 copies of the “Topper’s Topics” for our dance club.  They are now ready to go.

We decided to head for Newport Bay Elks since it was raining.  We danced from 1:30 until about 4:00.  We left a little early because of the rain and wanted to make sure we were home when Hannah joined us for dinner.  We went to Fio Rito’s for dinner with Carri, Thomas, and Hannah.  The rain cleared up for a while so Hannah could navigate home with her new wipers.

We ended the evening with two movies.

We watched “The Christmas Choir” . Summary: Nineteen days before Christmas, accountant Peter Brockman is dumped by his fiancée, Jill, because of his workaholic ways and being emotionally detached from life.  Read the detailed summary.

Great and true story!

“The Ultimate Gift” was great! Summary Jason thought his inheritance was going to be the gift of money and lots of it. Was he ever in for a big surprise. Based on the best-selling book “The Ultimate Gift” by Jim Stovall, the story sends trust fund baby Jason Stevens on an improbable journey of discovery, having to answer the ultimate question: “What is the relationship between wealth and happiness?” Jason had a very simple relationship with his impossibly wealthy Grandfather, Howard “Red” Stevens. He hated him. No heart-to-heart talks, no warm fuzzies, just cold hard cash. So of course he figured that when Red died, the whole “reading of the will” thing would be another simple cash transaction, that his Grandfather’s money would allow him to continue living in the lifestyle to which he had become accustomed. But what Red left him was anything but simple. Red instead devised a plan for Jason to experience a crash course on life…
