More Rain; We Need It!!

Works well!

First things first.  Coffee and the Swim Spa!  The outside temperature was 51, so getting in and out of the water was not so bad.  I caught Mary having her morning coffee and trying to get her eyes open!  She looks like a mermaid!

Splish Splash, I Was Takin’ A Bath, Along About A Saturday Morn!

I did have to ask Mary, “What direction do chickens swim in a pool?  Cluck wise!”

After our soireé in the hot tub, we decided to go for breakfast at “The Original Pancake House” on Chapman and then planned to go to Jan’s home for breakfast; it’s a great plan, we bring the food, and she cleans up afterward!

The restaurant was busy, so we waited and placed our order to go!

As we were getting ready to go, I heard a scream, and I immediately thought Mary might have fallen.  Like a flash, I dropped everything and headed for the bathroom.

Dr. Mary is staring at the drain mumbling something about a contact lens.  Yes, folks, the contact lens fell into the drain and was merrily on its way to the ocean.

US currency is going down a stainless steel sink drain.  $20 bills with water in a spiral vortex

I took apart the trap, and we retrieved the lens, a tiny little sucker.  Thank goodness it has a bit of a blue tinge, or it would have been a goner.

We departed Casa Valencia in a downpour and picked up our meal at The Original Pancake House on Chapman.  Two omelets, complete with pancakes, and we were off to Jans.  We had a great visit, and Jan was stuffed for the entire day!  It was raining so hard that the animals were starting to pair up.

From there, we went to Staples to pick up some printing jobs and then home, all in the rain.

I used to get bummed out when it rained; then I realized that it’s God’s way of washing off hippies.

We watched the rain pour down, and it was a welcome sight as we needed to get out from under the drought warnings.   As it was raining, Mary reorganized her under-the-sink goodies that had to be taken out, and I finished putting Christmas in the garage attic and cleaning off the workbench!  It looks great!

I am ready to make it messy again!

Now we are ready for tonight’s major event, the Elks!

Just little ol’ us!

We danced several times, ensuring we did NOT overstress Mary’s arm.  The Z’s did not make it tonight, nor did our neighbors.  The Branders joined us, and we added Marcine and his group to the table; all had great fun.

The lounge was almost packed!

We departed at about 9:30 PM as Mary’s arm began to hurt.  We did not go by Ace’s as it was getting late, and we were both tired.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
