Off And Running

We were up early and visited the garden.  The rainwater seems to make everything grow like mad!  It was fantastic, so we did not spend too much time outside.

We departed the house around 10:00 AM for an 11:00 AM dentist appointment for Mary in Huntington Beach.  A friend of mine won Dentist of the Year, and all he got was a little plaque.

Mary’s dentist asked her, “Do you floss?”  Mary answered, “Yes, I floss religiously.”   He said, “Really?” Mary responded. “Of course, on Christmas and Easter.”

After that, we decided to go to ORCC for lunch.

Our eyes were bigger than our tummies.  My bowl of clam chowder could have been the whole meal, yet I also had half of a meatball sandwich.  Mary, the smart one, ordered a cup of clam chowder but only could get halfway through the chicken quesadilla.

Old Ranch’s mascot bids welcome to all.

After arriving home, Mary took a short nap, and I packed away the blow-up decorations.  Mary came out and assisted with the nativity scene.  Now, everything is packed.

This year we do not have to contend with lighting since I have permanent LED lighting under the eves.  We can hardly wait for Valentine’s and St. Patrick’s holidays!  One push of the button and we are decorated!!

The front yard decorations get put away.  (p.s.  That is NOT my cane!)

It was almost dark when we finished.  Mary brought out the St. Valentine’s Day flag, and we replaced the Christmas flag.  We are ready for February 14th!!

While watching TV, we noticed the garden security light came on; it is motion sensitive.  Probably the movement of the trees in the wind set it off.

The lights came on around 9:00 PM.

We watched a new series called “Tulsa King.”  It was pretty good, and we turned off the TV after seven episodes and crashed.  We will pick it back up tomorrow.

Tulsa King is an American crime drama television series created by Taylor Sheridan with Terence Winter show running for Paramount+.  The series stars Sylvester Stallone, marking his first leading role in a scripted television series.  Stallone plays a Mafia capo who just got out of prison and is sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he tries to set up a criminal organization.  It premiered on November 13th, 2022.  In November 2022, the series was renewed for a second season.

Sometimes a little unpleasant but all in all, an excellent strong series!

It was 11:00 PM when we hit the sack, and needless to say, it was lights out immediately.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
