Success; We WILL Overcome!

Fact: Rats destroy about 20% of agricultural products worldwide each year.

Mary and I are battling the rats, and we are winning.  We do understand we are outnumbered, but we will prevail.  This morning we investigated the battle lines and got two of the little buggers!  The word will get around, “DO NOT GO INTO THIS BACKYARD!!

They never knew what hit them!

We loaded our pill boxes this morning.  You know you are old when it takes 30 minutes to fill two weeks’ worth of pill boxes!

Today we finally got a call back from UCI for my MRI ()I need a two+ Tesla machine).  We got September 12th, which was too far out as I want to get the procedure done ASAP.  So, we called David, who dropped by and took me to UCI in Orange.  With a few special visits to the imaging department, I have an appointment in Yorba Linda tomorrow at 1:00 PM!  It’s nice to know critical people!

On the way back, David and I stopped for a sandwich at his favorite shop in Orange., Cortina’s!

Cortina’s is family owned and operated and has been serving the Orange County community since 1963, when Papa Tony and his brother, Victor, first opened its doors.  From that day on, we have built our reputation upon loyal customers and lovers of food that taste the difference and relish the freshness in our quality products.  For us, here at Cortina’s, food and family are of utmost importance.  We have created a menu including recipes handed down from generation to generation.  Many of our products are made on the premises with traditional family recipes and the highest quality ingredients available.

Wow!  It was amazing!

We took the sandwiches home and brought one for Mary.  We had a good visit, and David saw the progress on the farm.

Around 5:45 PM, we visited the pharmacy for some necessities and visited Jan for a while.   Today we brought “Shipwreck Dinner” and “Apple Crisp” made from the apple’s from Gary’s tree; they were just picked.

We visit quite often because a) she is fun to visit and b) she like Mary’s cooking!

We watched a movie and made several “How Ya Doing” calls to our friends, including Mike Andersen, Lisa Chartier, Colleen, Vicky, and others.

We crashed early this evening, right after I baited the rat traps!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
