Time To Work! Time To Play!

Fact: The difference between nectarines and peaches is that nectarines don’t have fuzzy skins. You can graft peach branches onto a nectarine tree or nectarine branches onto a peach tree so you have both types of fruits.

A day to relax does not come very often but today is one of those days.  We have nothing planned until dinner and dancing tonight!  So, what do we do”  We headed for the garden! As I walked over to her, Mary asked, “What do you call an everyday potato? ”  Then it came, “A commen-tater.”

I had to have a come back so I said, “Thank goodness spring is finally here! The trees are re-leaved.”

The weeds do not have a chance!

While  Mary was digging, I was cutting the old wooden closet doors down the center so I could take them upstairs and into the attic; I will be able to walk around without having to step on the ceiling joists!

I chopped up our closet doors into 15 inch wide pieces that I’m going to use in the attic to walk on.

We had ten doors and I can make twenty-six individual planks! The doors are “hollow-core” (honeycomb)  but they are very strong.

I’m probably going to have more wooden planks than I need by the time everything is cut.

The weather was fantastic today so I decided I would join Mary in the yard.  I did a lot of watering today!

A beautiful day!

The flowers are going wild and the tulips are beginning to show their heads.

A field of yellow blossoms.

At 4:00 PM we headed out to go dancing but first, we stopped at Jan’s for a glass of wine and to do a drop-off of some foodies.   We were in luck this afternoon, we parked by the front door.

We arrived just as the sun was going down!

Bob and Donna joined us in the bar area where we had a wonderful dinner.  Jacob was our waiter and he did a super job.

PF Changs, they know us there!

We have been friends with Donna and Bob for almost two decades so we just enjoy each other’s company.  Donna was telling us she might need glasses.  She even gave us a demonstration.

“I need glasses”

7:05 PM and we are at the dance! We danced for three hours and it was great;  Neither of us had any pains after we departed.

Dance baby dance

We made it home by 9:45 PM and crashed.
