Meet The Family

Fun Fact: Hide And Seek – It’s commonly believed that a bride wears a veil to present herself anew to her groome, but that’s not quite right.  The authentic tradition started with brides protecting themselves against evil spirits.  In creepier Roman news, brides were draped from head to toe in red sheets to make it appear they were ablaze.  Why?  To scare evil spirits away, of course!

We stayed over an additional day courtesy of Irene!  We were invited to a family get-together on Saturday morning and then to dinner with the newlyweds later on in the evening.

On the way to Diane’s we saw many cherry trees.

The trees were all over San Jose.

Diane put on quite a brunch; we stuffed ourselves.  It was great to visit everyone and introduce Dr. Mary to the family.

Dang, it was a spread fit for a kind!

Diane and Mary took a tour of the backyard.  They got along swell, and I believe Mary feels at ease with the “folks.”

My sciatica was giving me fits, so we departed around 1:00 PM so I could get horizontal and get some relief.

Tales of the tall tree were told!

The tree is probably one hundred plus feet in height. OK, here it is: Why did the tree get stumped? It couldn’t get to the root of the problem.

Dang, it is a monster tree!

Of course, we talked about our dogs.  This cartoon is just about right!

After resting for a while, we went to the Dry Creek Inn and met with Lisa and Patrick.  We had an amazing dinner laughing the entire evening.

Cute couple!

We tried their specialty drinks, and we could not remember what they were!

Time fr a drink!

We were back home y 10:00 PM and watched FoxNews to see the latest on the war situation.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
