Fun Fact: Mount Everest may be the tallest mountain above sea level, but that honor goes to Mauna Kea when it comes to the tallest mountain on earth. Above the sea, Mauna Kea only stands 13,796 feet in height. But when you follow the mountain to its base at the bottom of the Pacific, it’s 32,808 feet — more than 3,000 feet taller than Everest.
We worked around the house until it was time to go to the Sunday dance in Chino. We planted the remaining bulbs in the front and back yard and finished cleanup from the party last night.
Mary did some weeding, and I used Miracle Grow on the flower beds.
The line tree is enjoying its new home! Another week or so, and it will be time to start squeezing. We also found a mess of fresh blossoms that will provide fruit all summer long.
Fact: Did you know that you can get a slice of lemon pie in Cuba for $1.50, and in jamaica, you can get key lime pie for $1.00? Those are the pie rates of the Caribbean.
We love our patio and dine outside every time we get a chance! The weather recently has been fine for eating outside, and if it gets cool, we have a heater on the table!
We finished cleaning up; the dining room looks bare, but tomorrow St. Patrick is coming to visit.
We did a “Meals On Wheels” run and were so far ahead of schedule we stopped at Jan’s and had a glass of wine before going to Chino and having dinner with Donna and Bob.
We laughed and giggled while dining and made it to the dance by 7:30 PM; our table was waiting.
I suggested that we all open a Chinese food buffet to Bob and Donna. It will be called “All You Can Eat and Dim Sum.”
We seriously discussed which was our favorite type of Asian food, Chinese or Japanese. I was booed when I thought it was a Thai.
Serious conversations, NOT!
When the line dancing starts, the girls get up and move while we men sit and watch!!
The dance was super, and we departed about 9:30 PM and headed home.
We stopped at Ace’s Bar and Grill for a nightcap and then went across the street and got an In-N-Out burger; there went the diet!
