It’s “Girls Night Out” Day, Yeah!

When life gives you melons, you might have dyslexia!

Up early, I actually woke up the rooster! Then, scout and I headed to Casa Valencia to get a stat o the day.  Mary had her weekly Zoom session, and she came over later in the morning.

Scout and I began to “organize” the garage and workshop.  We are close to having two cars in the garage now, Precious and The Silver Fox.  That will be historic.  In my efforts to organize, I found six cases of water!  I think they will begin to love ni the shed.

At 9:00, our brick mason dropped in, and we walked him through what we wanted in the backyard.  I showed him the construction of the garden in 2014 and the results in 2015.  He said it would be no problem at all.  We will have four beds as I had in Los Alamitos, although they will be a little wider so the trash cans can fit easily.  We will have hose bibs everywhere, and the drains will go right into the drainage ditch behind the property.  I will run electricity everywhere and make sure we have a yard light to chase away the critters.

High enough so we can sit and garden!

Before this, I was on my hands and knees taking care of the garden; it got too rough on the old legs! So, I decided to give myself a birthday present!

It was my birthday present seven years ago!

It came along nicely, taking about a week to create.

It was so nice to garden with raised beds!

Make sure you click the picture to get a full gander at the backyard in all its glory.  It is a 4.5M file so that the entire garden can be seen.

After he departed, we went to BB&B, our favorite place to shop!  We got trash cans and other necessities of life.  From there, we went to the Elks Lodge for “Girls Night Out.”  We had to depart early as our shower door guy was going about 1:30 PM, and we just made it.

Sydney was there and told us the contingencies were removed from the escrow papers meaning the loan should be approved tomorrow, which means escrow will close on the 20th.

He measured and measured and explained what we needed to do.  Mary took charge.  I continued to fuss around in the garage.

We finally got things ready and departed to Mary’s at 6:00 PM.  We watched a movie, and Mary made a little dinner, all we needed after pigging out at the Elks!  I was totally wasted, just tired to the bone.  We hit the sack early as Mary has to work tomorrow, and I return to the scene of the crime.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
