It’s Halloween 2020, Anyone Worried?

I wondered why the baseball was getting bigger. Then it hit me.

I headed to Mary’s bright and early as she was going to make breakfast.  The Silver Fox and I darted out the hood with rubber tires screeching.  I will never be late when Miss Mary is cooking!  Well, I got there earlier than expected as Mary and Scout were resting after Scout got on his Halloween costume.  He is going as a “Hot Dog.”

Scout and Mary, a force for Halloween!

Mary scurried away and got dressed while Scout and I discussed the finer points of how to act like a hot dog.

Mr. Scout is ready for Halloween now!

He said he prefers Tobasco sauce instead of ketchup, but I found that hard to believe!

Scout tells me secrets about the costume!

Mary made a wonderful breakfast with bacon and eggs, and I chopped up the fruit for a fruit salad.   Mary made small waffles in her one-waffle waffle maker.  They were fantastic and especially when Mary made faces on them using blueberries. We are a great team in the kitchen!

Fresh oranges for the yard!

After breakfast, we went to Home Depot and collected veggies to plant later on today! We found broccoli, onions, tomatoes, radishes, kale, and other goodies.  Returning home, we dug and planted and planted and dug.  After all that work, we went into the hot tub and relaxed.  Then it struck us; we have not talked to Jan.

We got a cold bag, put in wine and several other goodies, and headed for Jan’s house.

Jan and Mary, a pair to draw too!

We sat around and talked for an hour about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  Jan liked her little hat.

The Halloween decorations looked great on Jan!

The more we talked, the funnier it was, and finally, I said something; I guess my filter was off, and Mary just cracked up and crashed to the table.

Could it have been a “pointed comment”?

It was getting dark, so we headed home and awaiting the arrival of the little cookie-grabbers.  But, alas, after three hours of waiting, zip!  Nary a monster in the hood?  Everything was quiet, so we closed the front door, turned off the lights, and told Scout he had to take off his costume!

We watched another movie before I headed home.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
