Fire in The Hold, Sorta!

I saw an ad for burial plots and thought to myself; this is the last thing I need.

I heard about some fires down in the OC but never thought they would be near Mary. Well, around lunchtime, Mary called and asked if she could come and join me after work at Chez Liles.  Well, of course, the answer was yes.

Her neighbor had called and said the power was out due to the fire but no danger at this time.   The neighbor would take Scout for a walk and make sure he is OK.

Bob came by and finished the back wall reinforcement, and he will be doing the stucco on Wednesday!

Step One – Scratch coat applied!

The first made everything dirty, what a big mess!  I turned on the pool filter a little early and it cleaned most of the dirt up.

No swimming tonight

Mary dropped by, and I just happened to have artichokes, asparagus, and a steak sandwich, so we had dinner.  We had a glass of wine and did our voting thing; we voted  YES on NO.

We were up to our gullets with supporting materials!

Mary got the “All clear” around 8:00 PM, and she headed home to visit Scout. I followed her over to make sure all was OK, and I am glad I did as one of her storage containers on the side of the house came apart in the wind.  I intend to repair it tomorrow.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
