Not A Great Way To Start A Day!

No one is in control of your happiness but you; therefore, you have the power to change anything about yourself or your life that you want to change.

It’s 5:48 AM, and I heard Sue and instantly knew it was a seizure.  I called 911 immediately and then made sure she was on her side, and she was not choking.  I got my high-powered flashlight and set it to blink, placing it on the front wall pointing into the street.  The paramedics said it was very helpful in locating the house in the dark!

Heading to the ambulance

I had time to print out her current medical history and all the meds she was taking so I could give it to the guys when they arrived.  About 6-7 minutes later, they appeared.

Into the ambulance in a flash, and she was off!

We got the full treatment, including the flashing red lights of the local engine company!

I’ll bet Calhan would like to see this!!

I stayed behind and secured the house and readied it for the cleaning crew that was due in about 10:00 AM.

Diagnosis was UTI and a lower than expected level of Dilantin, making me think she did NOT take her pills last night, another item I will add to my checklist!

When I arrived, she was alert but did not know me or where she was, but that was corrected in about an hour!

I spent most of the morning at the hospital, and then Irene came to visit a spell me a little.  Irene and I had lunch about 3:00 PM, and then we both departed as they gave her pain meds for her back, and that knocked her out cold!  She will be staying overnight, at a minimum, to keep an eye on the heart and to try another seizure medicine.

She finally got into the hospital proper at 8:30 PM while I was on my way home.  Crazy Greg is going to come by tonight and visit me, and then I am going to crash by 10:00 PM as I am pooped out!

Before hitting the sack I ordered some Hormel Black Label bacon form Amazon.  I found t as Costco but last time I was there, they were out.  It’s a neat product to have around the house, especially if you love bacon!

Absolutely wonderful and so easy to prepare!
