Hot! Hot! Hot! Summer’s Last Gasp!

It is so hot, and I saw two trees fighting over a dog.

In Santa Ana, it was 98 degrees!  We went to The Old Ship for a late lunch with Brian and Jan Finc, and the car registered 98 as we exited the parking lot at 4:00 PM.  On the bright side, the temperature is supposed to drop to 80 degrees tomorrow, down ten from today!  That will be welcome as we are going to “Life Day” noon tomorrow!

An afternoon of happiness and giggles

On the way home, we again passed through the Avenue of the Giants, but awaiting in the brush was a terrifying monster!

Fall has arrived

Sometimes my eyes play tricks on me because I thought I saw a “Lilly-Saurus” coming in our direction.  It was, dinosaurs in the hood!

Beware of the wild Lilly-Saurus

We sent the picture to Joe as he likes to dress up as a dinosaur at Halloween, it must run in the family!

When we got home, we took a nap as the house was a pleasant cool 78 degrees thanks to the air conditioning.  We must have enjoyed it because Alexa had to wake us up at 7:00 PM so we could watch our serials and have our tookies!

Right before taking a nap, I checked to see what the postman bringeth!  What? A return to sender letter from Aunt Kaye.  First, I called the retirement home where she resides in Stockton, and they said: “She passed.”  They then immediately corrected their statement to say she was taken out by her daughter.  After calling Gayla, I got the complete story.  Aunt Kaye had fallen and broke her hip and shoulder.  At 97, she needed more medical care that the retirement community could handle.  She is now in a rehabilitation facility getting PT and additional levels of care.  From this point forward, we will send out letters and cards to Gayla’s home, and she will take them to Aunt Kaye.  (If you send Aunt Kaye notes and messages, call/text me and I will provide you GAyla’s address)

Before crashing for our nap, we made the social arrangements for the next few days!  Thursday: Sinatra Night at the Phoenix; Friday: Halloween party at GG; Saturday: Halloween party at Santa Ana Elks; Sunday: Halloween party at Satda Ana (Jam Session).

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
