It’s scary when you start making the same noises as your coffee maker.
“It’s hotter than a fart on a hot griddle!”… one of my dear mothers colloquialisms. She and Dad had many of them, such as:
- They’re dumb as a sack of hair.
- She’s as bright as a 10 watt bulb.
- He’s about as useful as tits on a boar.
- They couldn’t get hit if it were raining hammers.
- She’s nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
- He’s been out playing in the giggleweeds.
- It’s raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock.
- It’s colder than a well digger’s butt.
- Tighter than bark on a tree
- Dumb as a box of rocks.
- Face like a bulldog chewing a wasp
- It looks like she’s been set on fire and put out with a golf shoe
The weather guesser threw the dart and it hot 9s degrees so that was his forecast and amazingly enough he was pretty close. Tomorrow, Wednesday, it will be 90 and then the rest of the week will settle down and be highs in the low 80’s…Summer has arrived.
I headed to the garage early, about 9:30 AM to get some chores started before the heat arrives. While sitting there I sent a selfie to Mike Andersen..our dear friend who recently had an accident and is laid up.

I got the front yard security camera installed and water-proofed. We now have 24 visibility on anyone entering the front yard.
We made lunch at home and I hit the stove again making some pork sausage along with a couple of eggs and some “beef bacon”. Loads of protein and not too many calories.

Did You Know? To understand what beef bacon is, it helps to remember what ordinary bacon is: a slab of pork belly that is cured and smoked, and then sliced thinly. … Beef belly, sometimes known as the “navel,” is located just below the brisket, in what we might think of as the beef plate, or the underside of the short ribs.
In the afternoon I did some planting and cleaning our of the weeds in the blueberry pots…derned birds! The north side of the house now looks pretty good and I have decided where to put the security camera and lights. The lights will also detect motion in the neighbors yard…their request…so their south side is protected also!
Late afternoon it was 92 outside so the air conditioning went on…a cool 78 inside! We watched s couple of movies and just relaxed. I decided to swim a couple of laps in the pool and that was quite refreshing!
We got a nice call from Sarah, Jon’s bride. She was on her way home from work and decided to call so we chatted for 30 minutes…until my iPhone battery decided to get wobbley knees! Sarah is a hoot, a bright and beautiful young lady and we enjoy her company!
In the evening we just watched TV and talked…at 11:00 PM we decided to crash because if it is not too hot, we are heading to a local botanical garden!
