Thursday Was Slow…We Needed Slow!

The sole purpose of a child’s middle name is so he can tell when he’s really in trouble.

We stayed home today…recuperating from golf yesterday? After our morning talk, I made a run to the CVS to get some meds…which they were out of, naturally! While I was out I decided a Ralph’s stop would be OK. Thanks to Alexa, I had my shopping list right with me on the iPhone and I got a new orchid, tookies, fresh bacon, ham, and hot sausage links.

Returning home, we had breakfast and I hit the stove…hard!

My bride is such an outstanding cook that after 30+ years her magic is sinking into my think skull and I no longer use receipts…I go by feel! She was honestly quite surprised at my creation and was shocked when I addd cream cheese to the concoction at the last minute!

I calls it “Paul’s Protein Power Pan”…four P’s!

Mushrooms, veggie sausage, cheese, soyriso – good groceries

Of course, must chase that with…

Bacon and who grain toast!

After breakfast Sue did some chores, I watered the corn as it is really staring to grow and picked some berries for an afternoon snack.

We headed to Patty’s Place in Seal Beach to meet up with and have dinner with our son Mitch. (Actually a son-in-law but after almost 40 years of knowing him…he is a son). He was a little late as the 2nd street bridge had a major accident and the PCH was reduced from three lanes to one.

We shared stories, caught up on the family, shared crab-cakes and talked for a couple of hours before heading home!

Great times with family

During the conversation our granddaughter called form New Hampshire. Jackie wanted to try our her new Alexa device and it worked. We did not have our Alexa Show with us but we saw her fine via the iPhone. We got an Alexa Show for Mitch and now all of the family can video quite easily. We “see” the east coast contingent all the time.

Matt and Granddaughter Jackie

After dinner we headed home and watched a little TV before crashing! Oh, yes, we had our tookies although I was in a hurry and did NOT set the time so I created some Krispy Critters the first time…second time was a snap!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
