The Week Is Over; July Is Almost Here

People used to laugh at me when I would say “I want to be a comedian”, well nobody’s laughing now.

The morning was sweet with sunshine coming in the windows and the nasty June Gloom banned to the off-shore areas! The weather guesser says 75 degrees today! Good for the corn. Good for the sole!

Our son texted with a picture of Alex waiting to get into Angel Stadium to see the game!

Alex dressed in his Angel’s Costume and ready for the game!

The Silver Ghost was wanting a run do it was decided a run to Ralph’s was in order. We found cherries for $2/bag plus several other goodies and of course, tookie dough!

We stayed close to home as I was having some kind of tummy problem…just felt lousy all day.

We now have Hulu and I disconnected the cable TV saving $70/month so we explored Hulu.

Did You Know? In Mandarin, Hulu has two interesting meanings, each highly relevant to our mission. The primary meaning interested us because it is used in an ancient Chinese proverb that describes the Hulu as the holder of precious things. It literally translates to “gourd,” and in ancient times, the Hulu was hollowed out and used to hold precious things. The secondary meaning is “interactive recording”. We saw both definitions as appropriate bookends and highly relevant to the mission of Hulu.

We watched TV until it was time to go to the Garden Grove Elks for dancing and dinner.

Leon, Irene, and Bob join us for a lively conversation!

We made it until 9:00 PM and I was ready to come home…not feeling so well! Tookies at 11:00 PM and we crashed.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
