Mid Week And No Rain!

My wife just found out I replaced our bed with a trampoline; she hit the roof.

Yes, it is Wednesday and a good Wednesday it was! We just messed around the house this morning working on the latest jigsaw puzzle, another difficult one from “Miss Lisa Chartier”…once a friend!

We polished off the remains of yesterdays lunch and frankly, like a lot of leftovers, it tasted better the second day!

The cleaning folks were due in today about 3:00 PM so we got gussied up* and headed to Old Ranch for a drink. We sat there for 90 minutes so so looking at the beautiful mountains with the snow caps! It’s too bad this beautiful state has to be over run with the forces of evil… it really could be a paradise if the lefties would just go away!

*Gussied Up: adorn, array, beautify, bedeck, bedizen, blazon, caparison, deck, decorate, do, do up, doll up, drape, dress, embellish, emblaze, emboss, enrich, fancify, fancy up, festoon, garnish, glitz (up), grace, ornament, pretty (up), trim.

We had a drink from the Old Ranch dining room and the snow was magnificent!

We had plans to have dinner with our son-in-law Mitch at Patty’s Place so we departed Old Ranch about 4:50 PM and headed to Seal Beach. On our way, we got a text from our grand daughter…she was happy with her collage about Lilly!

Four years of our first great grandchild… Miss Lilly!

Random Memories:  As I grew up, Mom and Dad had a birthday picture of me taken from 1944 through 1960.  Theu were interesting to look at as they displayed how photography techniques and quality had changed over the years. I remember as they were prominently displayed on our den on Comey Avenue (guess they used the picture to scare away mice!).  We moved to Wade Street in Mar Vista in 1961 and the pictures were put into a box somewhere in the house.   In 1989, a P-51 Mustang took off form Santa Monica Airport, had engine problems, and proceeded to plow through the house taking with it hundreds of photographs, slides and all the pictures of me growing up…among other things!

We had a wonderful dinner with Mitch and I ordered fried chicken… haven’t done that in many many years! It was the best I have ever had…the outside was really crispy and the inside perfect!

We returned home to watch TV until we crashed…and yes, we had our tookies! We were ready for a cold night.. expected to drop to 39 degrees overnight so we warmed up the house before going to sleep…it worked! The house was still 72 when we woke up!

Thank you Mr. President for doing what needs to be done in spite of how tough it is!
