Get On Our Bib And Tucker; It’s Off To The Elks Purple Bubble Ball

Estimated reading time: 1 minute

Huh??? One’s finest clothes, dressed up, as in The men were told to put on their best bib and tucker for the dinner dance. Although wearing either a bib (frill at front of a man’s shirt) or a tucker (ornamental lace covering a woman’s neck and shoulders) is obsolete, the phrase survives. [Mid-1700s].  On our PURPLE PIGS there is a saying: “A COIN A DAY AND THEY’LL WALK, TALK, SEE AND PLAY,” which is really a polite way of saying… we should do a little more. Just a lot of people doing just a little more to help the handicapped children that is the real reason for our existence. What we need is a lot of people working together for the same cause. That’s the Elks.  Please join us for the evening!

We danced from 7:30 to 11:30 and only missed the Tango!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
