Paul Finishes The Winter Garden And We Celebrate Mitch’s Birthday

Time to complete the winter garden with a nice layer of straw mulch!  We have lettuce, onions,Swiss chard, peas, broccoli, cabbage, strawberries, and other delights.  We are still pulling asparagus from this years crop!

The mulch is like magic in terms of keeping the ground moist and not allowing it to dry out

The shelling peas are climbers so Paul put up a net to give them support.  In a few weeks they ought to be climbing high and producing peas for the table!

The peas can climb all they want now and the asparagus in the background are still producing.

We took Mitch out to dinner at the Summit House in Fullerton which is close to Zack’s place.  We dropped by Zack’s place to see the results of the tree trimming activities.  What a difference!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
