We did the standard pre departure chores including watering the corn seedlings. Sue fixed breakfast and we were off to hand therapy. Afterwords she suggested we take a drive to Cucina Enoteca down on PCH. It was a great idea and we had a drink and attacked some new menu items. Paul had the octopus cerviche while Sue did the mushroom pizza!
We then hatched a plan to visit Jan Mongell but she always fixes a banquet even if we stop by for ten minutes. This evening we got her! We drove to right by her house, went to the neighborhood restaurant/bakery and ordered extra crispy French Fries. We then called her with the following message … “Hi Jan, we are coming to visit you. Will be there in 90 seconds”.
Jan was very surprised and we spent the next three hours dining on French fries and a bottle of Chardonnay! Great times with friends!
