The Weekend Is Here… Time To Relax

Oops!  Relax?  No way Jose’.  We got up and Paul hit the garden again working in the front yard removing old string beans and cleaning up the Japanese grape plant.

At 10:00 am, Paul had to stop as he is participating in a study aimed at avoiding placing a “ten pound limit” on lifting weight after a heart bypass operation.  The study leader came to visit us two weeks after the operation and again yesterday (nine weeks after the operation). In each session he measured the movement of the sternum when the arms are placed at various positions and when one stands/sits from a  chair.  Paul recorded the pain level  and a picture of the sternum is taken for further study.  Paul was patient number sixteen.  Results to date show there is no reason to artificially limit a post operative person to a ten pound limit!

OK, that is done so at 11:00 we head to the hair dresser so Sue can get her hair cut!  The salon is close to ThaiLusion so we stopped to get some spicy lunch!

Spicy Fish Salad!

Spicy Fish Salad!

It was full of octopus, scallops, mussels, shrimp, and other sea creatures served hot and laid across fresh lettuce.  Excellent!

OK, it is 1:30 pm and time to go to H&H Nursery in Lakewood.  We were looking for corn but they sold out!  We ordered 60 plants to be delivered this coming Wednesday.  We got some bush beans and other goodies to place back into the garden!  Paul also bought some corn seeds and will try them!  What the hay?

Hi there! My name is Corny!

After working in the garden some more, we got ready to go to the Elks in Garden Grove to dine and dance!  It was zooed out and the band was one guy and he was not so good so we came home about 9:00 pm and watched some NCIS before crashing!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
