Golf Day Hooray!

It’s Thursday so that means golf!  Paul worked in the garden in the morning as this time of year the garden requires a lot of work. Plants need to be harvested, dead materials need to be removed, everything needs to be watered, and removed plants need to be replaced.

We played nine holes and that was just about right.  Nine holes walking is about two hours.  Sue got to visit Lilly the Swan but alas, we did NOT feed her as she was in the lake and could not get out of the water on hole number six.

We turned on the GPS on the iPhone to see how much exercise we got.  We walked a mile and a half in two hours for a break-neck speed of 0.7 miles per hour!

Perfect exercise... Not aerobic but exercise!

Perfect exercise… Not aerobic but exercise!

After some Happy Hour we went home and that “cabin fever look” was in Sue’s eyes!  Oh dear, what to do to fill up the time!  “Ah ha” Paul said to himself… “Let’s go to Patty’s Place!”   Paul got a smile of approval and we were off again in a cloud of dust and a hearty Hi-Yo Patty!

We had a glass of wine and then Chuck, the Bartender, suggested that if Paul was hungry but did NOT want something “heavy”, try the grilled prawns!  Wow!  They were delicious!

Grilled to perfection!

Grilled to perfection!

Did You Know? In the United Kingdom, prawn is more common on menus than shrimp, while the opposite is the case in the United States. The term prawn also loosely describes any large shrimp, especially those at 15 (or fewer) to the pound.

We headed for home and watched some additional episodes of NCIS before retiring and getting ready for “tomato sauce day”!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
