It’s The Middle Of The Week And We Are Already Tired!

I asked Mary about Christmas and got his answer!

We were up early, but the cold bug must have bitten us, as we were both under the weather!  Therefore, we canceled our trip to the gym.  We sat and talked to Colleen for quite a while, and Mary went back to bed, and I caught up on bills and other paperwork!

We are still ready for the season!

We got smart, and Mary began taking her cold pills yesterday. I took a preemptive strike on my bronchitis by requiring some antibiotics early.  We called my pulmonologist on his cell phone and he called in a prescription!  He did that because he knows that my bride is also [=an MD and knows what I need. The cold bug is like that annoying friend who shows up uninvited and won’t leave—especially when it starts throwing tissues at your nose like confetti!

Nasty little bugger he is!!

We just took it easy all day, popping pills and, doing various voodoo dances and repeating African Witch Doctor incantations hoping for the best!

We took a stroll through the garden to check on our peas, and let me tell you, they’re living their best life! They’re so magnificent that I half expect them to start a reality show called “Keeping Up with the Peas!” I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re throwing a party for all the veggie neighbors—carrots and radishes are already looking a bit jealous! ??

Another month, and we will be up to our keesters with fresh peas!

While outside, I got a bag full of oranges from our neighbors trees.  They are hardly ever home and invited us to pick all we want anytime we want.    The oranges will last the next few days and provide a shot of fresh vitamin “C”  into our diet.  which was delightful.  !

I can see fresh squeezed OJ for tomorrow’s breakfast!

We dilly-dallied around the house all afternoon, awaiting the arrival of the cleaning crew and Colleen!

We cleaned up at 2:00 p.m., and our housekeepers came in around 4:30 p.m. We were getting ready to depart.

Colleen showed up with an unhappy look on her face.  She had been robbed!  While out of the car for a few minutes, her purse was stolen from the van’s front seat!  She was pretty unhappy, so we decided to go to Aces and have a drink!  Mary did the steak salad, Colleen did the fajitas, and I did two hard-shelled tacos.

Arriving back home at 7:30 pm, it was LIGHT OUT within seconds!

While falling asleep I thought seriously about Christmas and the New Years. While I always try to do these things, I plan to try even harder next year!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
