The garden was so peaceful this morning we just sat and listened to the quiet. Six in the morning is a beautiful time!
We made a list of things to do later in the day after visiting the doctor. Mary snapped a picture of Scout and me having our morning coffee and sitting on the park bench in the south forty!
We checked things we did yesterday to make sure all was OK. The Fennell looked ready to start growing, and in about three months, it will be in the kitchen getting baked. Fennell smells like licorice, but after baking, the odor goes away. Fennel is a member of the carrot/parsley family.
When we told Scout we were leaving, he went to the front door and assumed the “guarding position,” letting us know he was waiting for intruders! Not knowing how long we would be, we asked him to guard the backyard and keep the elephants out of the garden; he complied!
We got The Silver Fox ready for the Long Beach run, but we were early, so we stopped at Old Ranch and had way too much breakfast! We brought it home with us, and it will be a meal tomorrow! I asked Mary, “What was the name of the Greek hero the gods punished for gluttony?” Without hesitation, she replied, “Diabetes.” She is so intelligent!
We were at the doctor’s office at 1:15 pm and were told we had no appointment. They canceled the strong person. The mistake was corrected, and we went into the operation at 1:30 pm and departed the office at 4:00 pm. The surgery was a success. I could have saved a lot of money and asked Mike Tyson to do his thing!
We came home, worked in the yard for two hours, had dinner, watched a movie, and crashed at 11:00 pm. I can’t have anything to eat or drink after midnight and need to be at the surgery center at 8:30 am tomorrow!
What dinosaur makes the most noise when they sleep? Tyrannosnorus!!
