Fact: Mistletoe, or as it is more well-known Viscum album (kidding), means “dung on a twig” in the Anglo-Saxon. According to the National Wildlife Federation, it spreads through bird droppings. Think about that during your next kiss.
Today began with a slight bit of rain, stopping before 7:00 AM! We got up and made ready for our trip to the doctor. David told us Dr. Gupta was @1 at UCI and specialized in arm/shoulder injuries; they know each other well!
Well, the results were perfect! Dr. Gupta said the bone alignment was excellent and that he would not operate on it if it were his arm. He wants to see us again in a week with new x-rays and believes keeping it immobile for another week is the proper action. After that, we will take Mary to a place that will perform specialized arm/shoulder movement! Life is good!
By the time the exam was over, Mary was tired, so we decided to stop by the Elks and have a bite to eat. Mary had a soup of the day, and I did a Doc’s burger. We both had tea (it’s been an alcohol-free week now!), and we did not miss it. Besides, perhaps we might lose some weight.
After the Elks, I took Mary home and got her horizontal; she immediately went to sleep. I went to the drug stores (CVS & Walgreens) to pick up our prescriptions and then to Ralphs to shop.
I got some beautiful salmon, chicken breasts, and other essentials. Mary said I could no longer go to the market unsupervised!
I decided to show Mary some Amos and Andy shows on YouTube. I cannot figure out how the liberals can think this show was racist. It is a beautiful story by beautiful people! The prime suspects act no differently than Laurel and Hardy or Abbott and Costello; they happen to be black! Take 18 minutes and watch the show, especially the last five minutes!
This show was recorded the year Mary was born!
When I got home, Dianne called the flower company and found out who sent her flowers and chocolate-dipped strawberries! We know what she is going through taking care of David and the chemo treatments; we figured to brighten up her day a little.
After I made another visit to the pharmacies, Mary was ready for dinner. I decided salmon was tonight’s feast! We had baked salmon, small potatoes with Herbs de Provence, and sliced pears! I also threw in a few pieces of home-baked bread with Irish butter.
Oh, I forgot, we had dinner by candlelight! A little romance is OK, and it might make her feel better. (Tomorrow is Chicken Wellington)
After I cleaned up, we hit the sack, and I was hoping for another night of cough-free! So far, so good!
I looked at my iPhone and received a family picture of the “Eastern Contingent”; Colleen and her family look great! We are proud of them!
Good night all and I leave you with this thought: What’s green, covered in tinsel and goes ribbet ribbet? A mistle-toad!
