Friday And Time For Taxes!

There was a time when $1000.00 was the down-payment on a car; now it’s the sales tax!

Scout And I got up early.  He always has to visit the backyard about 6:00 AM.  We took Scout for a walk just before Mary heads to work.  He seemed quite tired this mornng.

We fixed coffee in the kitchen before departing Mary’s and it reminded me of an old joke.

Scout came home with me since Mary had to work today.  We had cereal, he scouted the property scaring away the elephants.  I asked Scout, “What do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino?”  He responded with,”Bark Grrrrrr Bow Wow” which when translated means “Elephino”.

We started on the taxes, a scary activity.  I had so much paper out that I stopped, when to the glass store, and picked up my glass top for the card table.  Now we can get down to business.    I grouped the paperwork into bundles, labeled them, and took the entire mess to my accountant.  Thank goodness she has been doing my taxes for over 30 years and will be able to complete it without too much problem.

Returning home I did a couple of loads of wash and worked in the kitchen for a while. Mary and I are hosting a party on the 17th and I need to bring some of my goodies to her place including my new a quart instant pot device.

The final inspection of the power panel is due at the end of the month so I applied the final coat of stucco to the wall, waited for it to dry, and painted it.  Actually, it looks pretty good. I may have to neaten the wires a bit before the inspection.

OK, my power box is not exactly like that!

Scout and I headed for Mary’s about 5:15 PM and we all arrived within minutes of each other.  We had a glass of wine and tried the Rib Trader; we think it is gone forever now, pooh!

That’s our guy! Where are you??

Mary cooked up a little dinner, we enjoyed another glass of wine while watching Two And A Half Men.  Then it was on to “The Queens Gambit” finishing one-half of the seventh segment.

It was 9:30 PM and time to rest, we have a busy weekend ahead of us.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
