Good Bye Stone!

Doctor: Nurse, how is that little girl doing who swallowed ten quarters last night?  Nurse: No change yet!

We are up and ready to go…the checkin time was 9:00 AM with a 10:30 AM operation…alas, the OR was not ready and the operation was moved back to 12:30 AM.

So, we were denizens of the hospital for eight plus hours.

I waited in the main lobby and was tapped on the shoulder by Angie and Teri as they had come by to see John Shulte.  They are all golf friends but John is suffering with cancer which has spread all over and today it seems the kidneys are starting to fail so they are considering dialysis.  I visited him but he seemed not so good!

Doctor Petrossian came out after 90 minutes and said the stone was the size of a quarter…approximately 1″ in diameter…larger than he expected  He successfully blasted it into dust, a good thing as that one was not going to pass.  We go to see him in about ten days to get the stent removed,

The doc worked hard getting rid of the pesky stone!

We finally got out of the hospital at 5:15 PM and headed home only to go back out and ended up at CPK, Sue’s favorite. I broke down and had a gin and tonic tall but Sue was good and drank her non-alcoholic wine!

The text message arrived with pictures of our two New Hampshire grand daughters and Cassie’s kids (our great grandkids) getting ready for Halloween!

Cassie, Logann, Jackie, and Batman

We dropped by the pharmacy on our way home and looked around for some additional Halloween houses decorations but alas, not so much this year!

Joe, our son, called to hear about the day.  We shared all the events.  He pointed out that the stone was about half the size of a golf ball…gave us a real visual!

We watched the first episode of “Sabrina, The Teenage Witch” and then watched four “Gilmore Girls”…the end is in sight and may be tonight!

Interesting dilemma she is facing

We crashed after tookies at about 11:30 PM.
