Puzzlements!

Up and at ’em…  No way Jose’!  Look at the thermometer!

As Mom used to say “It’s colder than a well diggers butt”

Paul changed the revision level of PHP on the server to 7.1 from 6.7 and the Daily Diary stopped working?  I have no idea why!  So, Paul changed it back to 6.7 and it works fine.  How do I troubleshoot that?  It’s a puzzlement!

Amen!

The day began with me going to the hazardous waste dump in Huntington Beach (turns out it is about six blocks from Michele’s new home) to drop off all the gardening chemicals that we no longer needed or could not read!  The guys were really nice there… We will surely come back instead of dumping it in the trash!  I  also picked up a “battery basket”, a plastic container for dis-guarded batteries.  Neat idea!

Back to home via Old Ranch where I picked up a thumb drive with the pictures from New Years Eve. Another hour and New Years website will finally be complete.

I changed out the last of the security lights with LED’s versus the incandescent lights… More light and a lot less power.

Speaking of power, we are on track for a $103 month!  Saving $300 from last year at this time.

Sue stayed in bed most of the day and finally got up around 4:00 PM taking a shower and coming to dinner.  While she did not eat a lot, it was better than the last few days.  I am going to the market in the morning and looking for other goodies for her to try.

When Mom passed away in 1990, my cousins gave us a potted cactus plant (no thorns but a tall slender trunk with leaves).  It was about 8″ tall when we got it and I moved it to a big pot a year later.  Well, the thing is now 10 feet tall and so root bound it won’t take any water.  I worked for an hour loosening up the soil around the edge of the old pot and finally got the entire thing out.  I trimmed the roots and replanted it into a much larger container… It appears to be happy!  It’s 28 years old now and free to grow some more!

Tomorrow, the pomegranate tree gets a hair cut!  I am also cleaning out the old hot water heater closet moving about 15 bags of Christmas paper and bags to the garage in exchange for the cases of toilet paper, towels, Kleenex, etc.  Much better to have that inside instead of in the garage!

Tonight we watched NCIS and three Grey’s Anatomy episodes.  Time to crash… Happy to report that when we hit the hay, the house was using 320 watts! Pretty good.  Tonight it is going to be in the 40’s so I programmed the heater to turn on at 6:30 AM.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
