Layed Back Day!

We just relaxed this morning.  Paul finished up the Connor Birthday website site and got the garage door opener working again.

In the afternoon we went to the Cerritos Performing Arts Center again to see “A Tribute To Benny Goodman”. The show was was fantastic.  We were in row C and the sounds were perfect.  We went with Wil and Iris, the Roberts, and the Zaitz.

One great show with Peter Marshall, Terry Myers Orchestra, Nancy Osborne, and The Ink Spots

Did You Know? Benny Goodman was at the height of his career in 1938 when he and his band performed at Carnegie Hall and redefined popular music. A re-creation of that iconic concert, this tribute show features Big Band, Swing, and Jazz hits (including One O’ Clock Jump, Don’t Be That Way, and I Got Rhythm). The lineup includes Peter Marshall, bandleader Terry Myers, vocalist Nancy Osborne (And the Angels Sing), and the timeless vocal group The Ink Spots (If I Didn’t Care, We Three, and The Gypsy).

We had to run out as soon as the performance was was over as we had to go to Old Ranch for our monthly dinner dance.  We dine and dance and carry on.  Tonight we had thirty of our friends.

The Branders, Thedens, Zaitz, Kuhns, Roberts, Grays, Liles, Bob & Sandy, Conrad & Nita, Woolstons, Donnis & Bernie, Rodeckers, Irene, Seberns, Will & Iris… Cast of thousands!

Steve Dudek played very good dance music all evening long!

Dancing up a storm

Miss Seal Beach was introduced by Steve and Bob made the remark that “Paul has lost some of his pull as she did not come by our table”.

Paul asked our waiter, Arturo, to see if she would come over and visit with Bob… She did!  Bob retracted his “pull” remark!  We all had a good laugh.

While we all visited, Sue and Bob coordinate upcoming events.

The dance floor gets pretty busy after dinner!

We dance for about three hours

We headed for home and watched some TV before crashing.  We stayed up until 12:15  AM watching Cheers as some of their episodes are just to funny to turn off.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
