Preparing For The Evening

It’s almost Valentine’s Day and we got a great picture to go with the reminder!  Lilly-Gator!

The Valentine’s Day Lilly Gator

Indeed, Sue has the cold so we stayed close to home… We didn’t even go outside except for once when Paul went to the garden to get FRESH broccoli for lunch!  BTW, it was fantastic.

Bravely hunting the perfect stalk!

We watched a Hallmark Mystery and then got dressed to go out.  Sue was brave as we had theater tickets and just had to go!

To the Cerritos Performing Arts Center to see Manhattan Transfer and Take Six.  We first stopped at the Arte Cafe and had dinner with Bob and Donna at 6:00 PM.  It was pretty good but on show nights, the service is a little slow!

A quick drive across the parking lot and we arrive at the theater.

These two groups have been around for 40 years!

With more than 20 Grammys collectively, Pop group The Manhattan Transfer and the a capella sextet Take 6 deliver an exciting evening of music that spans a diverse spectrum. Expect everything from Jazz to Swing, and Gospel and R&B. Manhattan Transfer’s hits included Boy From New York City, Until I Met You (Corner Pocket), and Sassy. Take 6 garnered Grammy’s for So Much 2 Say, Join the Band, and Brothers. The groups  performed together and separately.

It was a mighty performance and they went straight through so we were done at 9:30.  We started to go to Patty’s Place but the cold caught up with Sue and we went home to watch a TV movie about …romance… After all it is the Valentines Day weekend.

We got a text on the way home and surprise surprise… Robin and Nick drove to Las Vegas to see Bob perform and who was there??? Laurie!  Amazing!  Laurie drove in from Salt Lake City. Las Vegas is a large large city and they met up by accident!  They had a good visit!

We watched a Valentine’s Day movie and finally crashed about 11:50 PM.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
