Today Was Tough…

“Dogs…do not ruin their sleep worrying about how to keep the objects they have, and to obtain the objects they have not. There is nothing of value they have to bequeath except their love and their faith.” – Eugene O’Neill

We took Flower to the vet to be cremated and join her brothers, sisters, and Mom and Dad!  The vets were fantastic and they had known Flower all of her life (and their family). Gino was almost in tears!

We did not want to go directly home so we stopped at Panda Palace to have lunch.  Paul drowned his sorrow in food!  We stayed home the rest of the day and moved things around a bit.

Flower had twelve beds in the house and two “dining stations” so we washed everything up and packed it away hoping we can pass it to the local animal shelter.  It was a difficult day for us.

We decided we had to get away and we always want to support the Phoenix Club so we headed south!

We forced ourselves to go to the Phoenix Club

The eyes were red, the hearts sad, but we managed to dance a bit and try to settle down.

Bob brought a friend from work who is a champion ballroom dancer... She was excellent

Bob and Donna were a relief.  They have us a nice car, lots of hugs and we talked about our babies!  It’s nice to have dear friends in times of need.

We returned home to the empty house and crashed!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
