Stayin’ Home; Takin’ Care!

Fact: St. Nick was more generous than jolly.  You probably already knew that the idea of Santa Claus came from St. Nicholas.  The saint wasn’t a bearded man who wore a red suit; that look came much later.  In the fourth century, the Christian bishop gave away his large inheritance to the poor and rescued women from servitude.  In Dutch, his name is Sinter Klaas, which later morphed into Santa Claus in English.

Before getting up this morning, I thought a lot about Mary’s career as an eye surgeon, and I asked her if she thought about examining Superman’s eyes.  She expressed interest in my question.  I thought this image was quite revealing!

We walked the garden, and Mary saw her new watering wands and giggled.  I plan to make gardening fun and not a chore; having the right tools is essential.

We took the day off and did light work around the house; Thanksgiving is 100% put away, so we are ready for Christmas.

We got several visits from Amazon Claus today, including a new Roomba.  Our home is just too big for one to do the job, so I got us a J7+ which not only vacuums the place but it dumps the results into a bag automatically!  iRobot OS powers your Roomba j7+ to clean the way you want.  It avoids objects in its path and allows you to schedule multiple daily cleanings by continuously learning and adapting to your home; it also empties its bin, so you don’t have to.

The new Roomba will stay in the front of the house!

The old Roomba will stay in the office and bedrooms.  It will work out fine!

Later in the evening, Mary got to feeling worse, so we took a COVID test.  Now I am negative, but Mary is positive.  We got ready in three minutes and headed for Urgent Care, but they were closed when we arrived.

COVID has changed many things and made us question other commonly held beliefs.  Thinking a mask is going to stop Covid-19 is the same as thinking that your underpants will protect everyone from a fart. Since everybody has now started washing their hands, the peanuts at the bar have lost their taste.  They said that a mask and gloves were enough to go to the supermarket. They lied; everyone else had clothes on.

I had an idea, let’s pretend to go on a quick vacation.  Grab the laptop and a toilet seat!  Where do you wanna go??

Mary suggested that previously, I had better ideas!

Mary called her daughter-in-law, an ER MD, to get a prescription for the anti-virus pills.   Diane listened to Mary’s description of what was happening and suggested just staying home and hydrating, so we relaxed from panic mode.

We hit the sack early and await tomorrow morning to make sure Mary is feeling better than today!
