A Day To Visit!

Fact: Why are school buses yellow?  The color is officially called “national school bus glossy yellow,” and it’s standard across the United States.  Back in 1939, at a conference funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, transportation officials from all of the then 48 states agreed on many safety standards for school buses, including the color.  Yellow is very visible, even in the early morning or late-evening light, and black lettering on a yellow background is easy to read.  It took until 1974 for all the school buses in the country to meet the standards.

In the middle of the night, we heard scout, and he sounded like he was sick.  We found he had been ill when we got up, so we cleaned things up and took him to the backyard.  We put a blanket over the baby, and he stayed on the patio until about 6 AM.

Baby doesn’t feel good!

Mark found us in the office where Mary was busy with her latest puzzle, so he joined us, and the two of them finished it off.  Mark is very good at putting puzzles together.

Busy using their grey matter

This is the second time we have done this puzzle; Mary is quite clever, so she writes the date we did the puzzle on the back of the puzzle box.  After a year, it is all new to us!

Done; time for another.

We let it sit out on the office table for a while to work on them as we pass by or sit for an entire session.  Chuck and Lisa Armstrong gave us several puzzles since they are moving back east in April.  We started one of those, and it looks complicated as it is a night scene over the ocean.  We hope to have it done before they come for dinner next week.

HAppiness is a completed puzzle.

Mark took off to visit Joe and the kids and watch one of their baseball games.  We did a Meals on Wheels run to Costa Mesa and then came back by the accountant’s office as it is getting to be tax time.  We decided to stop by and see Jan and share a glass of wine with her, and swap stories passing the time until we expected Mark to return home.

Robin came by, and we went to dinner at the local Mexican restaurant, Taco Mesa; it’s challenging to get good Mexican food on the East Coast.

Let’s eat!

Everybody was tired by the time we got home, so we visited for a while before crashing.  We tried to watch TV, but everyone was in various stages of sleep at the end of the movie, and it was a Clint Eastwood movie!.

About Paul
