“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.” – Anne Bradstreet
Sunday, the day to rest, and we did. We had tickets to see the Kingston Trio, but Sue’s meds are still not regulated in her system, so we skipped the theater and watched TV. We did go to the monthly dinner dance at Old Ranch. That is always fun, and we get to visit 30 of our dear friends while having an excellent meal and dancing to live music.
We dance to the sounds of Steve Dudek, and he can make the saxophone create magic!
We got our neighbors into dancing 25 years ago, and we are great friends. Vicky and Del are just fantastic, especially since I can now buy a Marie Calendar pie, cook it, cut a quarter of it, and send it next door. I get two pieces of pie for $8.00, a lot less expensive than going out to a restaurant!
Then there is Donna and Bob. Donna and Sue went to school together. Donna is Dr. Donna, family counselor, and Bob is closing in on retirement. He has a super job, close to home, and relatively low pressure, so he stays employed while Donna is still working. When the four of us get together, no telling what will happen!
The dance is over at 9:00 PM, so we have time to watch a little TV before crashing. For some reason I thought a lot about Pete and Lisa this evening, I must get them our dancing one of these days. They know not what they are missing!
