It was an easy drive ... 91 to I15 ... 65 MPH all the way
Perfect golf weather.... Well, any weather is good for golf
Temecula Creek Inn/Golf is adjacent to Temecula Parkway
A very nice resort....
We were ready to get out and walk after 90 minutes in the car...
Oh dear... Are we at Old Ranch???
Look familiar.... Time to dine... Wind power at work...
We checked in while Bunnaford shopped
James gets the latest information from the starter...
"We be hungry... Where be da foods??"
Right up the stairs....
Food... No wonder Paul went first
Bunny ordered a bottle of wine.....
Did You Know? - The "Nebuchadnezzar" bottle from the Biblical, King of Babylon contains 20 liters of wine! We can handle 3.7 gallons!
Fantastic view from our window seat
The weather was perfect not a cloud in the sky
The creek was running
... Tennessee James called it a "crick"
Did You Know? - A stream is a body of water with a current, confined within a bed and stream banks. Depending on its locale or certain characteristics, a stream may be referred to as a branch, brook, beck, burn, creek, "crick", gill (occasionally ghyll), kill, lick, mill race, rill, river, syke, bayou, rivulet, streamage, wash, run or runnel.
Checking in with Frankie.....
Serious studying of the menu underway....
They are homing in on something.... Maybe you should ask the chef??
Cute... A watermelon salad from the "Iron Chef"
Bunny wanted matching shoes...
The salad was excellent
Yeah wine.... Paul decided it was 5 pm somewhere!!
"Please... Just one"
Champagne, wine, and water???
Here's to you....
Load 'em up... Head 'em out...
Zooooooom
We played the Oaks first...
The Oaks course from the satellite
Did You Know? - The more traditional Oaks provides golfers fun, memorable shots that will leave you thinking this was how golf was meant to be played. Oak-lined fairways are forgiving and give you great looks into these glass-like greens.
Please... please... Don't hit me!
The ladies join us to see how it is NOT done
The ball is about to get a bad headache
We are on the move
A little warm up swing...
The ball goes sailing right down the center of the fairway...
We had to cross the interstate to get to the third hole
Contrast... Green against the brown
against the blue
"Proper tee placement is important.... Now, who is going to assist me in getting back up??"
Beautiful fairways
Off it goes into the wild blue yonder
The ladies landed their ball on the green.... Paul and James are still looking
Look... It's the Big Pumpkin ...
Nice legs... Too bad about the rest of the body
Not so splat
Our cart almost gave out....
Seemed the course was all up hill!
We called the clubhouse and ordered a replacement cart... To our specifications
Look carefully... The ball is in mid air
The Mighty Bunnaford comes up to bat....
Striking a handsome pose.... He scared the color away
Now we go down hill... We stopped for a brake check first
Oops... Make that up hill... Looking for the ball which is hidden in the grass
A mighty swing underway
Oh no... More up-hill
Green in the middle of the desert... Interesting contrasts
We sent Bunny out to retrieve the balls after seeing this sign...
The ninth hole and time to change carts
The Stonehouse course
was quite hilly
Did You Know? - The most challenging of the Temecula Creek golf courses is the Stonehouse nine, which demands precise tee shots in order to get lower scores. The dramatic changes in elevation and bends require accurate shot shaping and distance control.
The ninth hole of Stonehouse will be a challenge
Did You Know? - Two types of water hazards exist: "lateral" water hazards (marked with red stakes around the perimeter of the hazard) and water hazards (marked with yellow stakes). Lateral hazards are usually adjacent to the fairway being played (along the side), while water hazards generally cross the fairway being played forcing the player to hit over the water hazard.
Many blind shots on Stonehouse....
Calm... Cool... Collected... Asleep!
The ball never knew what hit it
Temecula in the background
We could see for miles and miles
Another 100 feet in altitude and we will need oxygen masks
Curious Bunny had to see the outhouses
Bunny now knows why we saved the Sears catalog....
She saw a snake.... No... It was a garden hose... No... She tipped over the outhouse
Look familiar???
This was quite a hole....
Note: See the I15 traffic? That's why we "Happy Houred" until it went away
A bugs eye view....
We were amazed at his hole... Twisted and turned...
Those who play together... Stay together
The highway is against the mountain above the course
Watching the balls fly by
The Stonehouse (A wedding/party area)
Coming home...
We are on 18 now....
The moon is up....
James reaches for his mighty three wood
Did You Know? - Woods are so called because, traditionally, they had a club head that was made from hardwood, generally persimmon, but modern clubs have heads made from metal, for example titanium, or composite materials, such as carbon fiber.
Some golf enthusiasts refer to these as "metals" or "metal woods" but this change in terminology is not strictly necessary, because while the material has changed, the style and intended use has not.
The change to stronger materials has allowed the design of the modern woods to incorporate significantly larger heads than in the past. Because of the increase in club head size, in 2004, the USGA created a new stipulation for the size of the club head.
Paul dropped two into the water from 150 yards out
Bunny made the green... We gave up!
The moon was watching us...
or... Were we watcing (howlling) the moon?
Take a closer look....
Time to rest
Wine time
A perfect ending to a perfect day
Laughs and giggles
Pork fat cooked popcorn... We had to try it
Did You Know? - Popcorn was first discovered thousands of years ago by the people living in what is now Peru . It is one of the oldest forms of corn; evidence of popcorn from 3600 B.C. was found in New Mexico, while even older evidence was found in Peru. It is estimated that these remnants date from as early as 4700 B.C. Purple popcorn was found in the early 1900s.
You cannot hide form the camera....
After eighteen holes it is fun just to laugh
Popcorn is gone and we are about to be the same
Clink
Mr. Pig was the logo for the restaurant
Getting rested up for the trip home
Glasses approaching empty
The moon was out
