Thursday - April 11, 2024 (Daily Dairy Synopsis)
Today we set sail for the Costa Rica and the zip lines! We had a very leisurely day at sea going to the gym, the spa, and then getting ready for a formal night!
During the day we went to the enrichment presentation where we got a taste of the Panama Canal!
Morning at sea are wonderful; this nice man brings us coffee, juice, and a sweet roll.
We lounged around this morning and then headed to the gym for our morning workout. From there we went to the theater and saw the last of a space presentation and then a quick history of the panama canal.
The presenter was quite good keeping the audience spellbound!
I was familiar with most of his satellite images.
The telescope pictures were up to date!
SBIRS, one of my projects - I worked on the sensors.
Wow! $480,000 to pass through the canal!
We generally mosey toward the trough and make our selections but I thought I had a better idea; it turned out NOT to be a great idea!
The trough (buffet) is quite amazing. They have everything one could desire for the meal being served. I usually went for bacon, ham and salmon with eggs and other goodies on the side.
There are some LARGE people at the trough and one must be careful not to get in their way as they forage through the selections. They had brought grazing to a new level!
Oh my!
We went to the 18th floor and read our books most of the day with an occasional visit to the trough for fresh fruit and Paul went to the ice cream bar.
The sea was very calm and it is always changing.
The sun begins to set and we decided we had done enough grazing today that we would go to the cabin and get ready for tonight!
We dressed early and decided to avoid dinner and perhaps have a snack at the Skywalkers evening appetizer bar.
Five-Fingers-Mary brought her cards!
Wow! I won a hand of crazy eights!
Did You Know? - The game first appeared as Eights in the 1930s, and the name Crazy Eights dates to the 1940s, derived from the United States military designation for discharge of mentally unstable soldiers, Section 8.
We wandered around to get the professional pictures taken.
The pictures are available on-line the next evening.
Damn, that lady is beautiful!
We stopped at six different spots to get our pictures taken!
Both the recorded music AND the live dance music was wonderful!
David joined us for dancing before the theater presentation!
