Saturday - April 13, 2024 Arrive 7:00AM - Depart 7:00PM (Daily Dairy Synopsis)
We had breakfast in our room. Nothing fancy, just the basics! We have a long day ahead of us!
The harbor was beautiful as harbors go!
It will be a nice day but probably hot!
The ship gets supplies
We walk off and onto the buses!
Maybe 50 feet?
She is ready to go! We are Number eight!
I am dressed for the tropics!
People said I was very colorful!
We chose the first seat that way, we get their first!
The zip line was about an hour away so we got to see some of the country side.
Their money has some transparent spots!
Did You Know? - The official currency of Costa Rica is the colón, named after Christopher Columbus.
Colones consist of colorful bills that depict some of Costa's Rica's most beautiful animals– these being sharks, monkeys, sloths and butterflies. They come in the amounts of 1000, 2000, 5,000, 10,000, 20,000 and 50,000 colones.
We passed over several bridges!
Looks peaceful but wait.....
See the little lizard? It is NOT little!
Here Lizzy Lizzy Lizzy!
We went off roading for a while!
We have arrived!
We get harnessed up!
Eight zip lines to get back to the start!
The Iguana wants to go zipping!
We decided to leave him behind!
The pre-zip training area was cool!
Ready, willing and able!
She is smiling; what does she know that Paul doesn't?
She brings color to the forest!
We get a class on stopping and what NOT to do!
Just hanging around
Off we go to the tram!
Ten people to a car
Up we go to the top of the mountain!
We glide through the rain forest!
Looks easy but....
The empty cars head back down for another load of folks!
Its easy going up.
The last station before we get off.
"Hey... Why you gringos wanna do this?"
We follow the trails to the various zip lines.
The walking is not easy.
The first zip line is directly ahead.
The first line was about 600' long!
Mary come sin at 564 miles per hour!
Almost there!
The slow-down rope is engaged!
The brakes are on...
Caught!
Un done; time to breath!
"You done good mam!"
Mary counts her fingers and toes.
This is what a happy zip liner looks like!
Only eight more to go!
Mary makes everyone smile!
The lines are at maximum stress!
The bearings are sizzling hot.
Two buzzards looked and flew the opposite direction!
Bottoms up!
An expert in action.
"Are you ready to catch??"
"Here I come, ready or not!"
In our get-up, we scared away the local critters.
Thumbs up!
The ocean is in the distance.
The weather was perfect albeit a little high in humidity.
Our last landing was in a tree.
We could drop on a line OR walk the stairs.
We chose to drop!
Do you see us?
Mary walks off the platform into the open air.
She is about to be caught... hopefully!
She made it.
Back on terra firma!
Unhooked and free to walk!
Dropping six stories was nothing.
Getting unhooked was not easy!
Free as a bird.
We still have some distance to go on the stairs.
Almost there!
Gift shop?
Mary found some treasures
We now have matching T-Shirts!
The T-Rex was watching us!
The dining hall was outdoors but we had zero bugs!
We had a sample of the local food and the local beer; pretty good!
Finally all the straps and stuff are off and we can cool down!
I told her how they made the local beer; she did not believe me.
Now I am in trouble again!
We are ready to head for the ship!
We again grabbed the front two seats for a birds eye view of the road home.
We had about an hour drive and the buss was well air conditioned.
Over the many rivers and home to the crocodiles.
There was a fair amount of construction going on.
You can see our ship in the distance.
The workers have to be careful of the crocodiles.
Security was tight; a good thing.
We got door-to-door service.
The arrow marks our 18th floor hang-out!
We hit the dock running.
We were tired and needed a drink!
Ready to go to Skywalkers!
The ships crew is always busy!
They had two gangways set up to handle all the visitors.
Getting ready to set sail!
It was our ships birthday!
That would feed a boat load of people; pardon the pun!
Ah, Skywalkers Lounge!
We had dinner in our assigned dining room!
David joined us.
We did not dance tonight; we crashed!
Yawning all the way to our suite.
