Someone Is Getting Married
Mary's youngest daughter is going to tie the knot at a destination wedding in Ireland and we are gong to join her for the festivities. This is a case where we are combing pleasure with pleasure!
Quick Summary Of The Trip Begins With Flying To Dublin
Getting there and back is a challenge but we found a flight to Ireland via North Carolina and on the way back we will hop over the London and take a long flight back home!
We were to depart May 21st (Tuesday) on AA and land to Charlotte NC at 5:00 am and then on to Dublin via AA arriving at 5:00 am. We are traveling First Class so the thirteen hours should not be too bad.
BUT, thing happen. Our flight was cancelled and we did an LAX to Boston to Dublin instead.
While in Ireland, we stayed in Dublin the first two days and then got a car to travel to Mount Juliet which is a 90 minute drive on M9 southwest of Dublin in County Kilkenny.
Mount Juliet (A One Week Stay)
County Kilkenny, in southeastern Ireland, is known for its medieval monastic ruins. These include the 12th-century Kells Priory, an Augustinian complex surrounded by fortified walls. The county capital, also called Kilkenny, has more medieval buildings, including Kilkenny Castle, remodelled in Victorian times and set in extensive grounds. St. Canice's Cathedral has a 9th-century round tower offering panoramic views.
We will be staying at the Mount Juliet Estate is a luxury 5-star hotel set in 500 acres of countryside in Kilkenny, Ireland.
