May 30th (Friday) Return To Dublin (Daily Diary)
We both slept in this morning, all the way until 7:30 am, when there was a sound at the door. I jumped up and headed to the door, soon realizing that 1) I was in my birthday suit and 2) Mary was about to swing the door open.
Not wanting to terrify the help, I jumped into bed head first and threw the covers over my gloriously naked body. Dang, that was a close one.
We had a delightful breakfast and proceeded to pack up our belongings.
We called for our car, but the chap did not believe we had a Rolls Royce, so we settled for the Pew-Got.
We drove to the Dublin airport and stayed at the Hilton Hotel in preparation for our departure to London tomorrow morning.
We headed out of the Mount Juliet Estate at 11:00 am, and using the iPhone GPS, we were fine, except the roundabouts were complex.
Off we go in a cloud of dust!
On the way into town, we saw a sign that sounded too good to be true. It was!
Someone likes Elvis!
The inlet to the ocean is quite wide.
Dublin Port, as an organization, has a long and remarkable history, dating back over 300 years from 1707.
There are flowers along their freeways as it is always raining.
We dropped what was left of the Pew-Got at the airport and took a cab form there to downtown Hilton to get Mary's coat. The we checked into the Airport Hilton (which was NOT by the airport.)
This part of town was a little rough around the edges so we are at the Hilton Restaurant which was not too bad.
I had a bit of difficulty ordering and got something I did NOT expect.
We checked in with some difficulty.
Dessert was needed after the harrowing experience of driving into Dublin.
We had some wine before dinner and an interesting conversation.
Oh dear!
Tomorrow a taxi to the airport and we are coming home.
