Page 8 Thursday 8/10/2023 - Another Day To Relax!
One more day at sea and we are really enjoying the trip! We love that we can do as much or as little as we want. There are so many options for activities and, of course, we can't forget about all the delicious food!
We made our way down to deck four to the Medical Center and visited the Ship's Doctor. Mary and her really hit it off! She is a beautiful lady from South Africa and her English accent was marvelous! is a trained ER physician and is well respected throughout the fleet.
Ready for the routine?
The patient was doing a little better but he still needed to see a retina specialist ASAP. We opted to go to the 18th floor and we brought our meal up there where it is so quiet.
A small blessing before our meal! The plums tasted like they had just picked them!
Mary looks serious. Probably because the champagne has not arrived yet!
We walked a lot on the ship and are averaging 6,000 steps a day or more; sometimes we leave our iPhones in the cabin!
Mary and I had to make another trip to the library since our Kindle Paperlites simply couldn't connect to the ship's Wi-Fi. It was a lovely library, but we noticed that it could use a few more books. We decided to gather some books before our upcoming cruise so that we could donate them to the library and help enrich their collection besides it will help empty one of our closets!
Another great place to sneak away too!
You could read here or find another secret spot to read.
The blue was a deep amazing blue.
We had a few white caps but nothing significant.
The propellers turning at 120 RPM really stirred up the water!
The wake was likely a mile long
The bow plunged into the sea leaping forward at nearly 19 knots!
We spent many hours at Skywalkers on the 18th floor where it was so quiet and we had a commanding view of the ocean!
We were testing tropical drinks!
After #16, Mary has to rest! Teasing, it was just so peaceful and relaxing that taking a nap comes naturally.
Z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z
We clean up after ourselves!
The Grille is a refined steakhouse that serves aged and hand cut, cooked-to-order steaks and premium seafood, including grilled shrimp and lobster. With a rich wood décor and a theater-style open kitchen, no wonder this specialty restaurant was named among the "Best Cruise Ship Steakhouses" by USA TODAY.
Dinner in the Grille again! The Maitre D' seems to always have an ocean view table ready for us!
These litter fellers were amazing!
I always have the best seat in the house with an amazing view!
It just gets better.
Yup! Indeed!
I did the Surf & Turf with a magnificent Rib-eye steam. The lobster was cooked to perfection; it did NOT taste like a rubber band!
My little carnivore sure loves her meat! She went for the 22 oz porterhouse and polished off most of it. I don't know where she puts it all, but she always manages to clean her plate.
Wow The extra fat on the steak made the remaining portions so delicious.
Did You Know? - This particular portion of steak is cut from the lower rib section of the cow, which lies close to the rear end, or loin. Because the porterhouse is cut from the junction of the tenderloin and top loin, it delivers a mouthwatering combination of tender, succulent filet mignon and rich, flavorful New York strip.
The bone, fat and muscle make the Porterhouse a very tender and flavorful cut of meat. The average 4 oz serving of Porterhouse Steak has about 240 calories, 26 grams of protein, and only 8 grams of fat. It's also a good source of Vitamin B12, Niacin, Phosphorus, Selenium, and Zinc.
"That looks bigger than 22 oz!"
I think I can; I think I can!"
I'm not sure what their secret is, but the steaks are always cooked to perfection!
Did I say perfectly done???
Wow!
"Please Please, No more steak!"
Just a little vanilla ice cream!
She liked it, it was 30 years old!
Tomorrow it is Starboard!
The officers pictures were on the wall by the theater.
These folks were hilarious, a few little innuendos are tossed in but even kids could see this show!
The Police Officer giving a ticket skit had me in tears!
