Our club does six dances a year of which two are formals (tux and gowns), two are semi-formal (suits/sport coats with ties and cocktail dresses) and two are casuals. It makes for a nice mix. Tonight we are at the Anaheim Petroleum Club for our winter casual. The band is the Wyatt Haupt Society Trio and they are fantastic! Come join the fun!
Thank you Marilyn and Don Bailey for the beautiful centerpieces
"Ladies... Are we ready to boogie this evening?"
"Yes.. We are ready!"
Did You Know? - The name boogie-woogie is used mostly in Europe; the closest thing in the US is probably East Coast Swing. What today is called boogie-woogie would during the 1950s have been called rock'n'roll.
The term boogie woogie is confusing; the dance can be danced to the music style called boogie-woogie but is most often danced to rock music of various kinds. The name was taken since the name rock'n'roll used in competition dance was already taken by a highly acrobatic dance form.
Jan explains the club to Nancy, one of this evenings guests and "Birthday Girl"
Jerry and Brian and definitely up to something
Checking in... iPhones everywhere!
We checked... They are NOT texting each other
"I have my notes for later on!"
When the doors were opened it became cold inside!
The wine seems to be flowing quite well... There was a sea of bottles
Winter has an excellent purpose
We vote for cold wine... or warm wine... or room temperature wine

Vi has lost Al... We will find him!

Hugs... A standard Starlighters greeting!
The hors d'oeuvers have arrived
Meeting and greeting takes time...
Remember to water the flowers
