The British Invasion was a cultural phenomenon of the mid-1960s, when rock and pop music acts from the United Kingdom and other aspects of British culture became popular in the United States with significant influence on the rising "counterculture" on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
The setup was completed in about twenty minutes, we had all sorts of help!
Mary distributed the 33 1/3 records to each table.

- The first 33 1/3 record was released in 1948 by Columbia
- Records. The 33 1/3 record was the first long-playing microgroove record, spinning at 33 1/3 revolutions per minute (rpm).
- The 33 1/3 record could play for 23 minutes per side, and held 224 to 300 grooves per inch.
- The 33 1/3 record was made of vinylite and marked the end of the 78 rpm shellac records.
- The 33 1/3 record was developed by recording engineer Peter Goldmark.
- The 33 1/3 record became the standard format for commercial recordings, ushering in the album as a new musical unit of consumption.
- The 33 1/3 record was much quieter than shellac.
- The 33 1/3 record was chosen to be easy for both 60 Hz power as in US or 50 Hz in most of the world.
