We have the first two tables; close to the bar and away from the speakers!
There was a good sized crowd this evening.
They came to each table.
No girls, you can't take the guys home with you!!
Brenda is NOT too sure of that!!!
We Made A Request - "What Child Is This?" is a Christmas carol with lyrics written by William Chatterton Dix in 1865 and set to the tune of "Greensleeves", a traditional English folk song, in 1871. Although written in Great Britain, the carol today is more popular in the United States than its country of origin.
The first verse poses a rhetorical question in the first half, with the response coming in the second half. The second verse contains another question that is answered, while the final verse is a universal appeal to everyone urging them "to accept Christ". The carol's melody has been described as "soulful", "haunting and beautiful" in nature.
Sing right along with them!!
You go girls!!
Bob was asked NOT to sing along!
"You stop that right now you nasty old elf!"
"How does that song go???"
Be careful, Bob MAY sing along!
If he does, all the neighborhood dogs will begin to bark!
Bob takes a drink of "singing fluid" before getting underway!
"Slurp, gurgle, belch!" - He is ready now!
Iris welcomed everybody!!
In Case You Get Asked To Sing!!
What child is this, who, laid to rest
On Mary's lap, is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing;
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
The babe, the son of Mary.
Why lies he in such mean estate
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christian, fear: for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spear shall pierce him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The babe, the son of Mary.
So bring him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come, peasant, king, to own him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone him.
Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby.
Joy, joy, for Christ is born,
The babe, the son of Mary.
Donna prepares her wine glass!
Best done when blindfolded!
Everyone is having a great time!
We certainly are!!
