2012-12-14 Bar Hopping
OK, it was not exactly "bar hopping" but we did go to three events today:
- Girls' Night Out at the Elks
- El Modeno High School Teachers Celebration
- Packard International Christmas Party in Santa Ana
Girl's Night out was our weekly event where Bob Z, Bill Capps, George, Will, and Iris and we shared stories from the previous week, again! I did get several birthday cards and we were careful not to eat too much!
Even the Elks was dressed for the occasion!
Mary found Santa's Chair and trid it out!
After the Elks, we picked up Scout from his hairdresser and took him home listening to his stories about the days events.
We rested for an hour and then headed to Aces Bar & Grill on Chapman where we joined the teachers celebrating the Christmas break! We captured the juke box and played Christmas music while we were there. It was fun to see everyone in a relaxed environment.

We returned home via TJ's as we were out of wine. When we got home, we awaited the call from Dianne saying they were on their way. We departed out home at 5:00 pm for the Packard garage on French Street in Santa Ana.
Mission Statement: We are an international community of 1,000+ members who share a passion for the Packard Automobile, its history, and preservation. To that end, we host functions to share our cars, our experiences, and to build lifelong friendships. We gather annually to host a Concours D'Elegance where we exercise our high standards of judging, thus preserving the Packard history of quality and elegance. Our regions host local events where we have the opportunity to drive our cars and socialize with other Packard fans.

1940 Packard sedan!
Quite a vehicle for 1935.
Did You Know? - Packard's best ever year was 1937 when the company built 109,518 cars.
Packard vehicles featured innovations, including the modern steering wheel, air-conditioning in a passenger car, and one of the first production 12-cylinder engines, adapted from developing the Liberty L-12 engine used during World War I to power warplanes.
The dash look pretty spartan using today's vehicles as a guide!
