We Continue Sailing North And It Is Getting Colder! (Daily Diary)
Mary is off and running!
We popped up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 7:30 am when the doorbell rang. It was our morning coffee, the thing that starts your heart every morning. We both jumped in the shower and got ready for the expected 8:30 am knock at the door; we were having breakfast with the kids.
Well, we got to the restaurant, which was packed, with a line about 50 feet long. Needless to say, we opted for the dreaded trough. It was pretty good, and Jon only went for two helpings.
As the crew danced through the Windjammer, I joined in the parade for a while! My ham and eggs nearly slipped off the table!
Today was the last full day on the ship and we took every advantage of it! On the way to breakfast and the show, we stopped by our favorite bar, the Bolero!
The guys were already busy setting everything up!
From there, we went to the photo studio to select our pictures! That was quite an exercise! Software designers ought to be made to use their products!
Too pretty to eat!!!
The tribute lasted about 45 minutes!
We had a load of fun teasing the bartenders and making funny sounds as we forced down this foul-tasting stuff (I didn't think it was foul, but the girl made faces that would scare Godzilla)
Oh My! Macallan 60!
Beautiful!!
Explained, poured, drank, repeat!!
We did all three!
The Macallan distillery is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie in Moray in the north-east of Scotland. The Macallan Distillers Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Edrington, which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
The Macallan is generally considered to be the second or third highest-selling single-malt scotch, next to Glenfiddich and, by some accounts, Glenlivet.
Originally, the Macallan was matured only in oak sherry casks brought to the distillery from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. Beginning in 2004, the Macallan introduced a new main product, the Fine Oak series, with the whisky mellowed in bourbon oak casks as well as sherry ones. In 2018, the Fine Oak series was renamed as the Triple Cask Matured range.
The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid in Craigellachie. It was initially a farm distillery, and the Macallan name came from the Gaelic word "magh", meaning "fertile ground," and "allan", referring to the local stream.
Line 'em up; drink 'em down!
Actually, we do NOT drink a lot... We are lightweights!
What time is it? It's shopping time, and Mary is looking for a bargain sweatshirt outfit. It was funny to see Mary try it on, and both the saleslady and I had to assist her.
UCLA colors? Mary!!!
Might as well try them on!!
All smiles!
It fits!
We walked for a while and finally ended up in our stateroom, deciding we needed to visit the Bolero Bar before going to dinner at "Hooked," the seafood restaurant. I plan to order oysters in honor of Vicky! Jon said he was going to attack the lobster!
Yummy!!!!
Sea Boogers galore!
Someone is a happy camper!
Lobsters were everywhere.
One way to get a picture of all of us!!
All smiles
Every bite!
Oh my! Where is Vicky???
Wow! Pounds of oysters!
Mary was a trooper and tried one, but she expressed her opinion with a ten-minute series of facial expressions that frightened the waitstaff, several of whom scampered out of the restaurant.
She gave us a real life expression of her feelings about Sea Boogers!
Jon is enjoying the show!
No more Sea Boogers tonight!!
Jon and I enjoyed them using hot sauce spread all over.
Over the teeth and through the gums; lookout tonsils, here it comes!
Absolutely wonderful!
The Lobster was excellent and we finished off five of them!
Dessert is served!
Hello calories!
We wandered by the lounge to say goodbye to our favorite bartender before heading upstairs to crash!
